First of all, I would like to thank you dear reader for taking the time to read my musings. I am just a mum who thinks a lot and you are granted front row access into my mind. Hold on tight! Recently, I watched the Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency series on Netflix. Dirk is a holistic detective, which means that he believes in the “fundamental interconnectedness of all things” and read a book by Danny Wallace called Charlotte Street. Both books feature situations that occurred randomly but had massive implications.
It made me think of the many small things that can change the course of your life, small decisions that make a big difference.
A few weeks ago, my children never having flown started to look for cheap flights. We found one to Rome on Christmas Eve, a cheap youth hostel and here I am.
I have had a few days with sun and my mood is so much better. I have explored beautiful architecture, enjoyed delicious simple food and used my language skills. I feel better in mood and better about myself.
I love to create, to write and to encourage others. My energy for this has been low in the last few months. The shorter, darker days and my children having mental health struggles of their own and needing more supervision and support has meant my energy was sapped.
Life throws us many opportunities. Sometimes we can give into anxiety, do less and our world becomes smaller and smaller.
However if we slowly push beyond our anxiety we can live more, experience more and the boundaries of our world grow.
We never know what life will bring us but we can choose what we do with it
